The Effect of Flow Lines on the Mechanical Properties in Hot-Rolled Bearing Steel

Hot rolling is an essential process for the shape-forming of bearing steel. It plays a significant role in formation and distribution flow lines. In this work, effect lines investigated by analyzing microstructure mechanical anisotropy hot-rolled was found that carbides rich with Cr Mn elements are distributed unevenly along flow-line direction Moreover, characterization indicates ultimate tensile strength yield do not have any difference two directions. Nevertheless, ultrahigh section shrinkage 57.51% obtained 0° sample has parallel lines, while 90° shows poor shrinkage. The uneven will affect speed crack propagation during deformation. Therefore, samples exhibit great plastic property. Meanwhile, after deformation, delaminated texture observed which may be caused different degrees deformation grains due to carbides. results work provide guidance controlling optimizing manufacturing rings.
